French Small Group Courses for Beginners & Advanced Learners
At our locations in Zurich and Winterthur, we offer small group courses
for beginners (German levels A1 & A2) and advanced learners (German levels B1 & B2).
Self-employedCan understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics; can also understand technical discussions in his or her own field of expertise. Can communicate so spontaneously and fluently that a normal conversation with native speakers is easily possible without much effort on either side. Can express him or herself clearly and in detail on a wide range of topics, explaining a point of view on a current issue, and giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
SelbstständigeCan understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can cope with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple, connected speech on familiar topics and areas of personal interest. Can report on experiences and events, describe dreams, hopes, and goals, and give brief reasons or explanations for plans and opinions.
ElementaryCan understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g., personal and family information, shopping, work, local area). Can communicate in simple, routine situations requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and common matters. Can describe, in simple terms, his or her background and education, immediate surroundings, and matters of immediate need.
ElementaryCan understand and use familiar, everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at meeting specific needs. Can introduce themselves and others and ask and answer questions about themselves—e.g., where they live, what kind of people they know, or what things they own. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is willing to help.
Determination of your
language level and
placement test
Before the course begins, your language level will be determined using an online placement test. Upon request, you can also take a placement test in Zurich or Winterthur.
