Andragogical Guiding Principles
Our andragogical approach is based on the conviction that adults learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process and can contribute their own experiences and interests. Our teaching is modern, practice-oriented, and aligned with the needs and goals of our students. We promote personal responsibility and self-reflection among our students and encourage them to develop their own individual learning strategies. Our teachers are motivated, inspiring, and flexible in order to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of our adult learners.
Our didactic principles are as follows:
- Active role of learners: The teacher acts as a moderator and facilitator rather than a dominant source of knowledge. Learners are given space to practise, apply, and consolidate what they have learned.
- Clear goal orientation: Each learning unit pursues a clearly identifiable objective and is structured with a coherent guiding thread.
- Focus on the target language: Teaching takes place exclusively in the target language. Support tools (e.g. sentence starters, visual aids) are used selectively to support beginners as well.
- Use of media: Varied and purposeful use of media and visualizations supports learning success.
- Interactive methods: Group and pair work, role plays, and discussions are actively encouraged. The teacher provides feedback without unnecessarily interrupting the flow of learning.
- Group dynamics: Teachers ensure that heterogeneous groups are shaped into effective learning teams. Introverted learners are encouraged, while dominant learners are moderated.
- Learning atmosphere: We create bright, welcoming spaces and a respectful environment that supports motivation and learning success.
Institutional Mission Statement
Our institutional mission is to be a high-quality and professional language school and examination institution that offers its students an effective and pleasant learning and examination environment while ensuring learning success.
Our language school places great value on an innovative, open, and friendly working environment. We know that only as a team can we attract and retain valued clients, and we do our utmost to ensure that together – from administration to teaching staff – we are successful and convincing. Mutual respect and individual support are the prerequisites for a learning-conducive climate, which includes not only subject expertise but also social and methodological competence.
As an organization, we strive for an open culture of communication and feedback, as we know that only through continuous feedback from clients and staff can we develop further and create attractive offerings. Entirely in the spirit of: “Standing still means falling behind.”
